It is my pleasure to recommend Vaughn McGrath for a teaching position at your institution. I managed the Community Education Program at Middlesex Community College and Vaughn taught Graphic Design and several courses for the Desktop Publishing Certificate Program including: Introduction to Graphic Design, Introduction to PageMaker, Introduction to Illustrator, and Graphic Design for the Web. He also volunteered to serve on our Curriculum Steering Committee, a group of faculity who helped coordinate the various certificate programs related to computer subjects. We met during the evening and it was clearly an extra contribution that faculity like Vaughn made to help improve and strengthen our curriculum.

During his teaching tenure he received very good to excellent evaluations. I was very impressed with his energy, enthusiasm, his responsiveness, and his ability to relate to students who were on many different learning levels. I hired him at a time when I had short notice for immediate openings and Vaughn was able to quickly put together an excellent course plan.

In short, I would give him a strong reference for a teaching position in his field. He has the practical experience of running a small business as well as the dedication and concern for students who are learning challenging design concept and computer applications.
